Preference in financial support will be given to graduate students and recent PhDs staying for the full 2 weeks.

Most foreigners need a visa to enter Russia. Visa-free travel (with an appropriate invitation) is possible for citizens of a number of countries, e.g. Argentina, Brazil, Israel, ... Still we advice to contact us to be sure.

June is tourist high-season in St.-Petersburg, with hotels relatively expensive. We expect the prices to be in the 7000 roubles/night range for a single room, and 4000 roubles/night in a shared double room in *** hotels in the city center. The current (January 2012) exchange rate is about 1 USD = 32 RUB and 1 EUR = 41 RUB.
